Why The 2010 Summer Will Be A Great One

Thursday, May 27th, 2010

After such a harsh and long winter the media are spreading some rumours that the 2010 summer will be a memorable one. For the north European countries that could be translated into less rain, higher temperatures although the countries of southern Europe should expect inferno like temperatures. Another thing to bear in mind about this summer is that during World Cup summers people tend to enjoy more staying at home and they travel less. It is, without any doubt, a very big social event and not just a sport one, considering the huge amount of people that will be following it.

The world cup by itself is another reason why the anticipation about the 2010 summer are so high. It is going to be the first World Cup taking place in Africa and many sports and non-sports related people are expecting it with great anticipation. Who doesn’t really like the combination of a hot summer with a lot of football and social gatherings?. After that harsh and long cold winter all Europeans that were affected by recession are really hoping for a great summer.

A typical summer scene would include lots of friends taking their places around the TV in the garden, being absorbed by the commentator’s voice that will be coming out of those portable speakers. The young ones will be all around the place, chasing each other or just playing with their outdoor toys, such as a rc helicopter, while the adults will be serving cold beer out of a beer dispenser. It’s also good to include people who don’t like sports so much so someone can be in charge of the barbecue.

Therefore we just need to wait until we find out whether the scientists are right in their forecasts or not. So lets hope everything will be as well as we expect it!

Another Poor British Summer?

Sunday, May 2nd, 2010

If you are sitting in your office today you must be thinking something very similar to me, what happened to that great British summertime? This year we have seen another bad start to the summer with heavy rain and in many cases even a bit of snow. Sadly this means we are going to have to hold back on getting out those police sunglasses and d&g sunglasses in favour of the coats, hats and scarves coming out, BOO!.

Snow does seem to be getting a bit boring now with many people waking up to 3 inches of it this morning meaning they had to dig out their cars to get to work. On the other hand there is a positive to this.

The bad patch of weather is not supposed to be lasting long at all in fact it is going to be on the way out by the beginning of April which hopefully means we can get on with a decent summer this year. Many people are looking forward to the barbecue temperatures again and cannot wait to get outside in their prada sunglasses and have a bit of fun! I have to say I am sick of tired of looking out the window at the office and having to look at rain all of the time. However because I am British it really does not matter on how the weather looks I will still be moaning which means when the sun does come out I will be too hot and want all of the fans on in the office.

At home however, it will be nice to get out into the garden during the summer and just sit out there rather than being stuck indoors all day! So lets all cross our fingers and hope that we have a very good summer.

it is safe to say that we really need a good summer, it is about time that everyone was given a chance to enjoy it!

Cold Winter Months Ahead

Monday, August 31st, 2009

Do you know what I was thinking of today? The summer holiday months are nearly over and Autumn is almost here. I was reading through the newspaper when I come across the face of Danni Minogue and Cheryl Cole. Yes thats correct it was because of the 2009 X Factor starting before long. I mean the year has literally flew by so quick, it seems as though the X Factor has just finished. And we all come to realise that the X Factor signals the start of the cold months. So where has the summer vanished too so fast. I have to say that I really did not experience any of it.

Lets have a speedy recollect back, I believe it was in June that we had a vast bout of sunshine, but regrettably I was not in the land at the time. We then had a great deal of rainfall and then abruptly another immense heat wave hit which lasted for around five days and whIch I did experience. Since then it has been a ceaseless course of rain and drizzle.

Well now it looks too late to come back as we head for the Autumn and winter months, so we now have to think about switching on and checking the Heater Oil. There are a few things that you should be looking at doing to keep your costs lower this wintertime.

First of all you should order any kind of warming oil you need at once, you may still be able to get some cheaper prices while you get in their ahead of time, secondly is to plan the winter. I acknowledge that a lot of people merely switch the heaters on when they feel it getting a bit chilly, but this is altogether the incorrect thing to do. I mean its not cold every day of the winter, so why run up your bills?
