Fuel saving Advice

Thursday, May 13th, 2010

The prices of petrol here in the UK have soared recently and there is no doubt at all about this and although you cannot avoid actually going out and buying the stuff there are many things that can be done to actually cut back the costs.

Well to kick off there are actually a few sites out there that allow users to put their postcode into a field which then points out the station near you with the lowest prices. Although this may only save you a few pence, if you do this every time you are sure to be saving a lot of money during the course of a few years.

If your tyres are worn or flat then you are going to be using more and more fuel so make sure you are checking the tyres every few weeks to make sure the pressure is still there, you will save money. Make sure that you take any objects out of the car that you are actually not using because the heavier the car is the more likely you are to burn fuel you do not need to be burning. Take out all of the car accessories you do not need. Anything from a roof rack can make a difference and this is because it makes the car a lot less aerodynamic which is not good for fuel.

The better your driving the less you are going to be using fuel which means if you are an aggressive driver expect to be using a lot more fuel. You are of course going to be using a lot of fuel if you are speeding off really fast at traffic lights and revving the vehicle.

So as you can see there are many ways to save money on your fuel costs, there are also things you can do to save on insurance by getting things like gap insurance and car leasing bad credit.
