YES, I’M GOING ON MY OWN CAMPING ESCAPADE. After countless pleading, my parents allowed me to join a camping trip – without a chaperone! It’s true and I can’t believe it. I’m not allowed to go on trips all by my lonesome. My big brother always comes with me. To make sure I’m safe. By chance, a rat control representative is visiting the house tomorrow and my brother is to keep the appointment. Fat chance my older brother can come with me. With my brother along, our gossips and girlie talks are limited. Though I packed my bags early, I left it open for final checking before leaving. Early in the morning, my friends picked me up. We’re simply jumping with joy.
We reached our campsite at the same time with the other campers. It’s exclusive for us girls. That finally convinced my parents to give me permission. Something leaped out when we were unpacking our things! Rats! There are rats in my bags. We screamed and screamed and ran out. In panic we ran outside. We were immediately besieged by fellow campers. Everybody is asking us why we are shouting. When everyone have settled down, we told them, through giggles, about the rats inside. Everybody burst out laughing. When we went back to our tent, the rats are nowhere to be found. It ran back to the fields where it came. Of course, I got the butt of the jokes. They believe that the rats jumped into our bag in the campsite. Not the whole truth, but I’m sticking with it. The rats came from my bag – coming from our house. The rats have really become a problem to our house. They have the ability and the shrewdness’ to get into our things. They are in our dressers, cabinets and bags. They eat our foods. The rats tear down things. My consolation is that our house is finally going to be treated by the rat control company.
When we returned from our camping trip, I have a lot of experiences to tell to my family. Number one in my list – of course, it’s our encounter with the rats. At least, I’m relieved to know that the rat control company have already fumigated our house. I’m relieved there will be no repeat performance of my “greatest” experience.
