It’s quite amazing that in our modern world a psychic such as John Edwards can become famous and even make a living off books, television shows, and live entertainment. While psychic powers could once get you laughed at or even killed, they seem to be no big deal to most people today. In fact, psychics such as Sylvia Brown often have a large following of fans who seek to learn from them. While there will always be those who don’t believe in these powers or who are made uncomfortable by the simple idea of a psychic, most people have a general acceptance that there are psychics amongst us.
Most psychics will openly admit that they do not know how or why they came to have these powers and they can’t fully explain how it works themselves. Other people have developed their powers later on in life with some form of psychic training.
In technical terms, it is called ESP, or extra sensory perception. As you might expect, this simply means that a natural psychic, or a person who has undergone psychic training has the ability to see or know more than other can perceive with their five basic sense.
While no one knows exactly how many people have psychic abilities, it stands to reason that their numbers are extremely small. This may have something to do with the fact that most psychics have never had any kind of psychic training, and therefore they are not truly aware of their gifts. Sure, they may occasionally realize that they are a bit different or that they have special insights they often dismissed as intuition, but they would never dream of calling themselves psychics.
Of course, there are even people who have absolutely no psychic powers but who put on the act in order to make a living. Some do readings over the phone or Internet while others read tarot cards for a living. Most people who go in for these readings are doing it in good humor, though some may really believe in a particular psychic’s abilities.
That is not to say that everyone who calls themselves a psychic is just an actress. There are some true psychics who do very important things in our society. They help look for missing children and have been known to give valuable clues to law enforcement. Some of their leads have lead to the arrest of criminals or to solving difficult cases.
What about you? Do you have psychic powers? Before you smile and shake your head, you should know that there are many respected psychics who believe that everyone is born with psychic abilities. But because they refuse to open themselves up to the possibility, or they have not received psychic training, they will never learn to use this most human of gifts.
You don’t have to do amazing, extraordinary things to become a psychic. It’s true that with a bit of psychic training anyone who really wants to develop their natural skills can do so.
How do you start psychic training? The first step of psychic training is to clear your psyche. This entails removing as many negative thoughts, feeling, and emotions as you possibly can. This can be accomplished through deep meditation and relaxation.
Psychic training requires a free mind and the negativity, stress, and fearful thoughts that most people harbor can stand in the way of powers really developing. This is why it is important to start practicing meditation and other forms of deep relaxation.
Efforts in psychic training will be greatly rewarded by a consistent, daily practice of meditation. A serious student will often find a remote place outdoors or somewhere quiet within their own home and spent at least a half hour each day clearing the mind.
Since this is the first and most important step of psychic training, you must be diligent and perform these meditation sessions each and every day. If you take a break from your sessions, you will quickly discover that most of the progress you have made has vanished into thin air.
The most important part of meditation is actually the patterns of deep breathing. It is in controlling the breath that tension and negativity is released and focus is gained.
There are no rigid guidelines or standardized testing in psychic training. Each person moves at their own pace, making progress a very spiritual, individualized process.
New psychics ultimately develop and strengthen their skills by practicing with tarot cards. These are a main staple in the psychic’s arsenal, so it is only fitting that new students pick up their own deck and start practicing at some point.
The most exciting part of becoming a psychic and developing power is the ability to do tarot card readings on family members and friends. Most developing psychics use this as a pleasurable pastime and do not charge fees.
