I love living in Aberdeen! You want to know what I like the best - the weather. I know, I know, you think I am crazy, but hear me out first.
I spent my early childhood in Aberdeen, SD and at the age of 8 my family and I moved to Central Texas. I spent the next 12 years there, and I would always enjoy watching the flowers begin blooming in early February. If you played your cards right you would even have time to get 2 crops per year from your garden. It would get hot, but not unbearably so. While we lived in Texas, we would spend countless hours outside and the wind blew very little. Of our 12 winters there, only 2 of them ever had snow. The Texas winters consisted of the time between early December and mid-January. To make a long story short, the weather was near perfect 80% of the year.
Increase in Earth’s temperature results in major melt down of ice in Polar Regions. This will cause the increase in sea levels thus affecting precipitation. From there the abnormalities of atmospheric conditions are established. Other effects of global warming in our environment are Arctic shrinking which will result to methane release, glacier retreat, and extinctions of some species. Not to mention the human harm that global warming can bring us.
Because of these alarming incidents, most governments are attempting to lessen, if not successfully defeat the harmful effects of global warming. The Kyoto Protocol legally binds all member regions to reduce usage of four greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, sulphur hexafluoride. Its main goal is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Unlike cold fronts, warm fronts are not typically associated with devastation. This and other warm air mass conditions put warm fronts in stark contrast to cold fronts. The following are what you would expect when a warm air mass approaches or passes:
The people in Texas never take full advantage of the great weather, but we do here. The hustle and bustle in our neighborhood on the good days is amazing. Sometimes it feels like a street party, everyone is outside, everyone is happy and the kids are going crazy. You don’t appreciate that which you have all of the time. So I am thankful for the Aberdeen area weather, because I have learned to take advantage of it when it is good….. and you should too
