Save The World: Save The Kitchen?

Friday, March 19th, 2010

Being Eco-Friendly seems to be a bit of a trend floating around at the moment, this is a fantastic thing though. Going out and ridding the world of global warming is not something that people need to worry about, people should be encouraged to do this.

It is pretty amazing to see just how many kitchen accessories are out there that are made for people who love the environment. Here are just some of the other ones.

Coasters

It would certainly seem that there are many types of coasters that are recycled out there and this is a great excuse to use to buy them. is it really hard to actually get recycled coasters, all you do is pop your drink on them? Some are made from used coffee cups while others from things like yoghurt pots. The bonus to getting one of these is that they are incredibly cheap.

Baking Sets

This is a great one for kids and baking sets can be made from sustainable wood. Basically for each tree they take out, they put more in. Although this can be a bit more expensive it is a brilliant way at looking towards saving the environment, I would recommend doing this.

Recycled Glasses

Recycled glasses have to be the top product that you should look into buying for your kitchen. Imagne skowly replacing all of those broken glasses you have with recycled glasses, if everyone did this it would make a huge difference.

Of course it doesn’t just end with the kitchen, you can go after all kinds of other products that make the house a lot more eco-friendly like tableware and home furnishings. These products to seem to be a bit more expensive but they are often much better quality and can make a difference!

Mobile Phone Goes Green

Wednesday, November 4th, 2009

So many things are now going green and now the mobile phone is set to hit the market too.

If you appliances already have the energy star they are deemed to be green and of course you have the option of going green when it comes to the car thanks to the hybrid. However when buying your next mobile is there an option out there for somebody who wants to save the world?

Well unbelievably there is and it comes in the form of Samsung and Sprint teaming up. The new mobile phone is actually made from corn and 80% of recyclable materials are used. You have to question why this hasn’t been done before though? Now that most people in the developed world own at least one mobile phone, it seems crazy why this sort of thing wasn’t released sooner!

The phone charger itself has the energy star on it and some of the applications on the phones are even put on there beforehand to make you a greener person. The Discvoery Channel have pre-loaded apps onto there to help turn you into an even greater greener person. There is also a glossary on there explaining things on climate changes.

This isn’t the end of it for this phone, it is also a smartphone with GPS, you get to browse the web and it even has speech recognition. What this shows is that technology seems to be jumping ahead at a very alarming rate.

Of course it doesn’t just have to stop on the phone, you can buy so many different things for the home that are green and eco-friendly now whether that is accessories for the kitchen as well as eco bathroom accessories So whatever eco friendly furnishings you are looking to change there is always something out there for you to choose.Whatever will they come up with next. Technology is wonderful, but where will it all end?
