One Of The Major Users Of Renewable Heating Oil Is Norfolk Town

Friday, April 2nd, 2010

At the moment in Reepham, there is an interesting trial taking place. Which is actually a small town situated in Norfolk. Thirty one buildings including the local school are taking part in a trial which involves them testing how efficient renewable heating oil is. The main reason for the trial however, is to test how well this type of heating works and not necessarily to test how cost effective it is. At the moment this type of renewable fuel works out more expensive than the standard oil, but this could all change in the future.

There are a number of products which make up renewable heating oil including kerosene, vegetable oil and animal fat and it is called a biodiesel. This fuel is then used and stored in exactly the same way as traditional heating oil. The mixture does tend to smell quite bad but this should be a problem that can be easily remedied in the future. But everyone is so excited about this type of fuel because it is renewable. There is a lot of pressure on government and communities to find solutions to a problem that is affecting humans all across the globe.

Many of us are actually becoming more aware of damage to the environment and want to do something to reduce our carbon footprint so this trial in Norfolk is a great way of showing other communities how to do something to help the environment. The amount of damage to the environment from carbon dioxide emissions could be dramatically reduced if this trial proves to be a success. It also seems certain that in the future the price of this type of oil would fall dramatically and this would encourage even more people to give it a try. There could be a huge knock on effect from this little trial in Reepham as it could spread worldwide and could be hugely beneficial to our descendants.

Some people spend a lot of money heating their homes in the winter. Gas and electricity are very expensive today, with no signs of prices coming down. Many individuals are now changing over to cheaper home heating oil though. When they do they always need their tanks filled with cheap heating oil ensuring they can always heat their home in winter.
