The weather is a fairly common subject in talks around the Bay of Fundy. Neighbors love to discuss the weather, probably because the Bay of Fundy’s coastal climate is so hard to forecast. Visitors should be aware that the Bay of Fundy is a 4 season destination.
Winter (December-March)
Throughout the winter temperatures normally go from -10 C to 4 C (14 F to 40 F). Daytime temperatures are usually hotter and temperatures begin to warm up near the end of the season. Snow is likely to occur throughout the season. Many seasonal tourism attractions and services are shut down throughout the winter months. That being said, the winter remains a very unique time to go to the Bay of Fundy. Many events, urban entertainment, accommodations, spas, shopping, museums, and winter activities (snow shoeing, snowboarding, skiing, and snowmobiling for example) remain available for wintertime visitors.
Spring (March -June)
Throughout the spring temperatures may range from -5 C to 22 C (23 F to 72 F). Temperatures during the day are generally warmer. Temperatures steadily warm up as the season advances and by the end of April the winter’s snow is often gon. By May the plants and trees start to bloom. The majority or tourism related attractions and services open by the first of May.
Summer (June-September)
During the summer season temperatures may range all the way from 10 C to 25 C (50 F to 77 F). Temperatures during the day are typically hotter. Nearing the end of the season temperatures begin to cool down. All tourism related attractions and services are open and going full tilt in the summer (apart from the ski hills of course).
Fall (September-December)
During the fall season temperatures may go from roughly 2 C to 20 C (36 F to 68 F). Temperatures during the day are generally warmer. Trees start to turn colour in early October and they will lose their leaves by the end of October. Temperatures cool down as the season advances. Chances of snow in this season get more likely in late November and in December. The bulk of tourism related attractions and services remain open until Mid-Late October.
