New Efficient Oil Furnaces

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009

Installing a new high efficiency oil furnace might be the solution for those of you who worry about the costs of heating their homes every winter. These furnaces are designed to burn less oil while still creating as much heat and also have other benefits. This will result in you saving straight away on your oil costs. Plus these furnaces are designed to need less cleaning and maintenance so you will save money here as well. Although installing a new furnace will cost money initially, if you can afford to install one it will be a worthwhile investment as it will save you money long term.

You will find that there is less cleaning involved with these new oil furnaces because they are much cleaner at burning oil. One of the more safe features of some of these furnaces is the one that notifies the contractor if a problem develops with the furnace. One of the disadvantages with older furnaces is that they do not indicate if there are any problems until it is too late. In the worst case, an older furnace could end up releasing deadly amounts of carbon monoxide into the home.

There are three types of new high efficiency oil furnaces and they are wall mounted, combo heaters and standalones. Wall mountable furnaces are compact and out of the way and are ideal for smaller houses. A combo heater is great as it will heat both the radiators and the water at the same time. A standalone will be better for heating a large home as they are bigger.

Not only are these new oil furnaces highly efficient, but they are very durable and extremely quiet to run. They are a safe choice for use in your home and will help you to reduce your oil costs. So even though it might cost you money in the beginning, it will help you to lower your energy bills every month.

Some people spend a lot of money heating their homes in the winter. Gas and electricity are very expensive today, with no signs of prices coming down. Clever people are switching to heating oil as a fuel though. When they do they always need their tanks filled with Boilerjuice to ensure they never run out.

Why Oil Heaters Are Better

Wednesday, December 16th, 2009

Having a heater available to you at a moments notice is something that many people desire during the winter months. There are many various types of heater which can be used but some are better than others. It used to be that stand alone gas or electric heaters were the heaters of choice for most people but nowadays many people prefer oil heaters. Oil heaters offer many benefits that other heaters simply do not.

A lot of people feel uneasy about using electric heaters as they do not feel comfortable leaving them on during the night. Electric heaters have been known to short circuit and cause fires so using them is always a worry. This makes them an unsuitable choice for night heating. They are also not very energy efficient and use a lot of electricity. Gas heaters should not be used at night either due to the fact that they pose potential risks of fire or carbon monoxide poisoning.

Oil heaters on the other hand are less likely to cause electrical fires as they only use a quarter of the amount of electricity that an electric heater would. The way oil heaters work is to slowly heat the oil inside and then once the desired room temperature is reached it will switch off until the temperature drops where it will then switch back on again. Also a lot of oil heaters are equipped with safety shut off features to prevent against over heating and in the event of them being accidentally tipped over.

With oil heaters the air does not dry out or become stuffy. This can make night time breathing much better. It is also possible to have greater control over the temperature of the heater. This means that you can set it to take the chill off the room or you can have it higher to make the room really warm. They are energy efficient and can help to reduce heating bills.

Getting the home heated up during winter can be very expensive. Gas and electricity are very expensive today, with no signs of prices coming down. Many individuals are now changing over to cheaper home heating oil though. And when this happens they have to ensure the tanks re always full of Boilerjuice to make sure they don’t run dry in the cold weather.
