Simple sources of alternative energy

There is a lot of talk in the world lately about the energy crisis and about ways that we can contribute to the solution.

Sometimes I think we all get sick and tired of hearing about the problem every day on the news. It seems that all we ever hear about are the major changes that rogue scientists are making to solve this problem. I would rather hear about the little things that I can do everyday to help. So I’ve done a little research for your sake and mine, and have come up with a few basic methods of alternative energy that almost anyone can follow.

This may seem un-surprising, but driving as few miles as possible is a great starting point. Unrealistic solutions will never be effective. But maybe, just maybe, we can all look for little and simple ways to carpool to reduce how much we drive our cars. Contribute to alternative energy by carpooling and leaving one of the cars at home. Better still, try to walk or ride a bike whenever feasible.

One other easy way to reduce your energy consumption is to turn the lights off during the day and use the free natural sunlight to light your home. How often do you walk into an office and they have their lights at full power while the sun shines right through the window? So take a critical look around you and see what extra lights and other things you have plugged in that you really don’t need to use. The chances are high that everyone out there has a at least one little thing that they could reduce energy consumption each day. If you want to cut your electricity costs as well as save the planet, then you might want to consider creating your own electricity by learning how to build your own solar panels The world may not be changed by one more order from the government, but it just might be changed as individuals do their part in helping find and use methods of alternative energy.
