The Demise Of Our Local Newspapers

Tuesday, October 27th, 2009

I have recently been hearing about how our local newspapers (in the UK) are falling into decline due to a raft of competition from various alternative media sources such as the internet.

I do not work within the media in any sense; my vocation is to do with becoming a foster parent, stammering therapy and DVD authoring.

Advertising rates should be made more affordable with perks to encourage people to become long term business partners and advertisers, such as free features of their business from time to time. I would also include some interesting competitions and offers off different products. Where I live we have a famous Saturday nights sports paper which arrives in the shops at around 6pm, it is called The Sports Argus and is pink in colour. This paper has been a must buy for my family for as long as I can remember and it includes all of the days football results and the latest football tables. It also has match reports from all of the local teams as well as a lot of information about other sports including the horse racing and its results. I am very sad to report that this paper is no longer available to purchase; it had its final publication around four weeks ago.

A few years ago the first place to read about these results and to see the updated football divisions was via this newspaper. This is no longer the case of course. We are now able to view this information almost immediately after each football match has finished on either satellite television, the internet or even on our mobile phones. Less and less people are now purchasing this particular paper which is a shame as I had continued to do so and will miss it!

Advertising revenue has greatly reduced in recent years for these local newspapers, this has also been a reason which has resulted in some of them deciding to stop printing.

In my opinion if the local newspapers are going to survive they need to fight back. I would much prefer to read about the real local stories from my area; let’s face it that it what it says on the tin “local newspaper”. I can read about the national news in a variety of places, maybe there are many other people who think in a similar way as to what I do; hence the decline in overall newspaper sales. By all means include the main two or three national news stories but ninety percent of the items should be about the local area and its people.

Night Time Thoughts During Lucid Dreams

Saturday, October 24th, 2009

When you are the director of your dream and you know that you are dreaming then such dreams are known as lucid dreams. In lucid dreams the dreamer is aware of each and every thing he does and he does things that he wants to do. He decides who the people in his dream are, what places in his dream are and what the ending of his dream is.

You can have all kinds of lucid dreams which range from mystery to fairytale to romance. The possibilities are endless and what ever you want can happen when you are lucid dreaming.

Lucid dreams are obviously better than the normal dreams because you hold the reigns in them. You are the actor and the director in them. Sometimes these dreams can be so lifelike that you might get confused that you are dreaming or awake. There are times you need to check that you are lucid dreaming or if what you are experiencing is real.

In a lucid dream, there are certain details that might clue you into the fact it is a dream, such as colors, or items that don’t belong, for example. Much like sleep walking where the person appears to be awake, a lucid dream involves much the same type of feeling without being fully conscious of it.

Lucid dreams can bring your deepest desires to life. What you can’t do in real life you can do it in your dream. If there is someone you fancy and they are unattainable for some reason in real life, you can be with that person in your dream. In your lucid dream that person can be completely yours and even kiss you and be with you.

You can change the dream so that what you want to happen is how it ends in lucid dreaming. By using your sub-conscious part of the brain that controls creativity and imagination to control your dream and picture how it would be if your dreams came true, a lucid dream can be a way to see that possibility.

Lucid dreams can be brought about by simple techniques. While your body rests and relaxes for another day, your mind can be conscious.

Learning how to have lucid dreams can take a lot of practice and some people may not be able to master it until they have gone through a long, slow process.

One way to invoke the lucid dreams is to try and remember your dream when you are awake. You need to make a supreme effort to remember all the minute details and happenings and images in the dream. Record it in your bedside journal and keep it handy for such entries. You don’t need to fret if you can’t remember every teeny detail. With this technique, it’s a matter of time when you will have the same dream again and then you can further add details to your observations. Soon, you will have a dream guide reference of your own with this practice.

If you are a writer this information is invaluable. You may have your next novel lined up. In a lucid dream you create the scenes and actions. The dream ends the way you want it to. Lucid dreaming is a time to pacify our inner ambitions and desires and plan their execution in reality.

Try to recall everything you can about your dream, go back to sleep and, if you can, return to where you were before you woke up and you will continue to dream. The dream will occur more than once, so you will have the opportunity to recall more each time it does occur. Recalling more each time you try.

Waking up before your normal waking time may cause you to hit the snooze alarm and doze off a bit and this is the prime time for lucid dreaming. You may even think you have been awake the whole time, but you have been experiencing a lucid dream that seems very lifelike.

Soon you will be surprised at how easy it really is to do. One short cut you can try is to use self-hypnosis; it can help prepare your mind to recall vividly your lucid dreams.

Another shortcut worth mentioning is a recent development in sound technology called binaural beats. These special frequencies work by synchronizing the two hemispheres of the brain and almost instantly put your brainwaves into the state required for lucid dreaming to be possible.

How To Learn Clairvoyance For Everyone

Saturday, October 24th, 2009

Is it really possible for anyone to learn clairvoyance? To a certain extent, yes. To understand what we mean by this, we need to clarify what we mean by clairvoyance, and what we mean by being able to ‘learn’ it.

Part of what’s confusing is that the term ‘clairvoyance‘ has different meanings, depending on whom you talk to. Most commonly, people think being clairvoyant means that you can engage in remote viewing, which is that you can see things from far away without using your senses or any type of technology. Another common definition of it among people is that precognition is actually clairvoyance. However, recognition means that you can see events happening in the future. Most basically, what clairvoyance really means is that you can know something about a person, location, object, or event without using your five senses. In other words, clairvoyance is really a sixth sense.

True, some people do have extraordinary clairvoyant abilities, such as the ability to see, hear, feel, smell, or even taste something far away, or even to know things about the past or future that they couldn?t possibly know through any other means. No one really know how this works. Science has not been able to document or explain these abilities. Although there are dozens of metaphysical explanations of these psychic abilities, no particular one has emerged as the dominant belief, and some explanations are even contradictory. One common element, however, seems to cut across all these different theories: people with extraordinary psychic abilities are simply born that way.

Is it possible for everyone to learn remote viewing or develop the ability to see into the future? No, but it is possible for everyone to develop a talent at developing a sixth sense.

All people have a certain degree of clairvoyant sixth sense. This often manifests as an indescribable ‘hunch’ or ‘feeling’ that people can’t logically explain. You may hear people say, for example, ‘I’ve got a bad feeling about this,’ or ‘I don’t know why, but I’ve got a feeling we can trust him.’ Unfortunately, many people ignore their sixth sense, deferring to logic or emotion rather than their gut instinct.

In science, there is an acknowledgement of the deeper validity of hunches and instincts. Scientists state that there is nothing supernatural or paranormal about these abilities. Psychologists put forth the notion that such skills are little more than the actions of the subconscious mind which picks up helpful details and signals that the conscious mind is able to notice. The subconscious mind then translates all of this into emotions designed to help guide you thanks to the feelings you are experiencing subconsciously. So, to develop a sixth sense, you need to expand and trust your subconscious mind.

Whether your sixth sense is based in paranormal psychic ability or brain neurochemistry is not what is important. The main issue here is clairvoyance exists and all people possess a certain degree of it. And it is possible for them to hone their clairvoyance skill. The following are the three ways to do this:

1. Improve Your Perception

Most people go through life with a sort of tunnel vision, where they’re so focused on what they’re doing in front of them that they become oblivious to everything that’s going on around them. Even so, though, these small details are hidden in plain sight, and our subconscious minds pick up on them. We get our instinct and hunches from this information, and if you can learn how to increase your perception, and become more aware of what’s around you and the details therein, you’ll be giving your subconscious mind more of what it needs to develop your sixth sense.

Yes, all of this involves a great deal of practice. Thankfully, there are a number of things you can do to improve your abilities of perception. Slowing down and sinking in your environment is one such thing. Staying relaxed and calm is another. Be more leisurely in your daily activities is another. Try to avoid allowing things to occupy your senses and thoughts and this will increase awareness. The end result of this could prove to be quite positive.

A little bit of mini-meditation does not hurt either. That means you can close your eyes and inhale and try to relax. Upon opening your eyes, you will discover you are more aware of your surroundings. This process only takes a few seconds and it works fairly well.

2. Meditate

Invest time in meditating at least 30 minutes a day. The general purpose of meditating is to alter and clear the conscious state of mind in order to allow your subconscious mind rise to the surface. This way it can do what is needed to work and communicate with the conscious mind. That is why people who meditate develop feelings relaxation when they are done.

Now, meditation is not exactly easy to do, especially if your mind is always racing. For example, you may sit down and try to think about nothing, but all of a sudden, you’re thinking about the fact that you can’t think about nothing. You also may wonder if you’re doing this wrong, which can get perseverative and get you ’stuck’ in thought that simply won’t turn off. The key to getting through this is to occupy your conscious mind with something that will distract it. You can do this by using a mantra and to focus.

When you meditate, your senses are distracted. You hear every sound going on, everything happening, and you are distracted. So instead of trying to ‘control’ your senses, simply distract THEM and keep them busy. To do this, you can stare to focus on a candle flame. The flickers can be mesmerizing but not so complicated that they are distracting. This keeps your mind occupied, too.

Second, our conscious mind, our thoughts, never shuts down?we’re always thinking about something. Rather than try to silence it, occupy and distract it with a mantra. A mantra is phrase, poem, or prayer that you repeat over and over again in your head just to occupy your mind. It can be anything?a prayer, a favorite poem, even song lyrics?just as long as you know it by heart and can recite it with much thought. Some people pray the rosary as they meditate?the endless string of memorized Hail Marys occupies their conscious mind perfectly.

3. Trust Your Instincts

This may be the most important thing you do when it comes to developing clairvoyant abilities. It’s normal to doubt and second-guess yourself and you get started with this, but learn not to doubt those gut feelings you always get. Instead, follow them and see what happens. Know that your hunches and instincts exist for some reason, and that your subconscious mind is probably trying to tell you something. It may be something your subconscious mind hasn’t noticed, but yet it’s still important.

At first, this is going to be a difficult habit to follow. However, as time goes on, the more you listen to and trust or instance, the more confidence you’ll get in this particular skill. And this will help you learn how to develop your clairvoyant sixth sense so that it becomes stronger, and will become something you learn to trust.

Several Factors Why People Battle With Weight Issues

Saturday, October 24th, 2009

More and more countries are recognizing the fact that obesity and being overweight has become one of the major health dilemma that individuals are fighting these days. The main culprit as many considered is the kind of food being manufactured and sold nowadays. The foods that you can buy outside your home are most of the times composed of processed products, refined sugar and flour. It’s still up to each person to decide whether they will eat these foods or not.

There are a number of factors involved when you want to find out why a person becomes obese or overweight. Some people develop a weight problem because of hormonal imbalances that directly affects appetite and their natural perception of being hungry and full. On the other hand, some people claim to have been born to them by their ancestors. This “fat genes” theory claims that people who come from families which have obese or overweight members have a genetic predisposition to become overweight themselves. Some people thinks that if you come from families that have the genetic marker for obesity, you tend to have more numbers of fat cells compared to that of the average person; people believe that there exist different opinions about this “fat genes” idea. Others believe that “fat genes” could not be blamed for a person’s weight problems; rather it is the family culture of eating that they inherited which triggers the problem.

Weight happens over time, and is not something that just happens overnight or over a few days. It’s very easy to make sense out of why some people work hard to fight weight issues while others don’t. One only needs to take more food and calories than one burns then it will produce more energy or fats. If you are the type of person who has a sedentary lifestyle and who is not into exercising much, then eating more calories than necessary puts you at great threat of developing weight problems over time.

Maybe you’re thinking about why you should really decide to control your weight when you don’t see the need for as of the moment. It’s a fact that is held up by numerous medical studies that people with weight problems are more vulnerable to a number of serious health problems. You might not sense it yet while you’re young but when you get to your 40s, you’ll most probably begin to feel the effects of your bad dietary habits. Overweight or obese individuals are more at risk of developing several types of cancer. This is because excess fats in your body makes the environment an ideal place for cancer cells to thrive. To be overweight or obese also makes you more prone to breathing disorders like apnea while you sleep. This means that your breathing becomes abnormal while asleep, making sure that your body doesn’t get the rest that it needs while you sleep.

Because majority of people who struggle from weight issues are guilty with bad eating habits, it’s beneficial to take a look at your diet today and make the decision to implement changes on it. It’s not as easy as some people may make it out to be, but it’s really achievable. It could be a struggle for you but it’s definitely not impossible. You may also try natural weight loss pills like Proactol to help you maintain a healthy diet all your life. Provillus review is a very effective way of stopping DHT or dihydrotestosterone that interrupts the normal hair growth process.

Facts And Fantasies With Lucid Dreaming

Saturday, October 24th, 2009

Lucid Dreaming or Conscious Dreaming is the art of being aware that one is actually dreaming. In simple words, while in dream, you are aware that all the events are not happening in fact, or ?It?s Just A Dream!? kind of situation. There is certain amount of control you can exercise while lucid dreaming, which is not the case in normal dreams.

The power of having mastery over shaping the events of your own dreams is part of the very definition of the metaphysical. All of the normal dream-time rules, like “timelessness”, “teleportation”, and so on still apply: so, step into an existence where your usual limitations have suddenly vanished without a trace.

So, you ask, can it really be that simple? Surely not every single common person who wants to can experience lucid dreaming!

In fact, lucid dreaming is not too difficult an ask. If you are determined to learn this powerful medium of expressing your inner desires, there are tried and tested ways of achieving this.

Perhaps most important of all is that you need to be perfectly clear regarding your personal objective in trying to master lucid dreaming. Are these lucid dreams for your own private playground, or do you have something more serious in mind? It doesn’t much matter, just as long as you’ve got it crystal clear in your mind’s eye.

Once you have this, you can begin actually learning lucid dreaming. It begins with Dream Recall, or remembering a dream you had the night before. Only when you’re able to do this can you progress into learning actual lucid dreaming.

Now, Dream Recall, or remembering your dreams, can take a lot of time; but, you’ll tremendously help yourself if you use a dream journal. Place the dream journal beside your bed, and when you wake up in the morning immediately grab it and start writing down everything you can about your previous night’s dreams, starting with the one you were most recently having. Slow as it is, in time you’ll realize you are progressing within this process, and becoming ever more able to remember your dreams in detail.

Many people have found that hypnosis can drastically reduce the time needed to prepare your subconscious mind to experience lucid dreaming. Often just one of two hypnosis sessions will allow you to consistently remember all of your dreams. Once this occurs your mind is then conditioned for lucid dreaming.

Now, you can get to lucid dreams more easily by simply going back to sleep a few hours before you intend to wake up for the day.

Lucid dreams can be readily induced by going back to sleep for a couple of hours after you wake up in the morning. These dreams are the closest to lucid dreams, because they seem to be borderline between actual dreams or your conscious thoughts manifested in anticipation of an event for that day. Just set an alarm clock to go off a couple of hours before you will be waking up for the day, then turn it off and go back to sleep to experience lucid dreaming.

You may realize now that it?s extremely helpful to keep track of your sleeping patterns so you may find the best times to have lucid dreams.

Lucid dreaming can actually help you fight sleeping disorders, like insomnia. Whenever you are struggling to sleep at the normal sleeping hours, you just need to tell your mind that sleeping equals lucid dreaming, and your mind will take care of all the thoughts that are preventing you from falling asleep.

Recent advances in sound technologies have made it much faster and easier for one to learn lucid dreaming.

Slightly different frequencies get played into each ear by way of stereophonic technology. Thus, the listener’s brain waves are harmonized to the right frequency for lucid dreaming to be induced.

A slightly different sound frequency is played in each ear, which soon brings you to a state of complete relaxation. This resonates your brainwaves to the same frequency which allows lucid dreaming to occur.

Binaural sound waves, alone or along with hypnosis, enable people to achieve the state of consciousness necessary to move into the realm of lucid dreaming.

By listening to binaural sound waves, particular when combined with hypnosis to prepare the subconscious mind, it is possible for you to experience lucid dreaming very soon after your first attempt.
